Balochistan Launches Final Polio Vaccination Campaign of 2024
Quetta, Dec. 30: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Safaraz Bugti inaugurated the province’s final polio vaccination campaign of 2024. The campaign aims to vaccinate over 2.6 million children against polio.
Provincial Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Education Minister Rahila Hamid Khan Durrani, and other officials attended the launch ceremony.
The seven-day campaign will see over 11,000 teams participating, with a focus on districts including Chaman, Dera Bugti, Qilla Abdullah, and others.
According to reports, 65 polio cases have been reported in the country this year, with 27 cases in Balochistan alone.¹ The province has been working to eradicate polio, with efforts including vaccination drives and awareness campaigns.
