ANF Cracks Down on Narcotics: Seizes Over 131kg of Contraband, Arrests 6 Suspects
Islamabad, Jan. 9, In a nationwide crackdown on narcotics, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted six operations across Pakistan, resulting in the seizure of 131.478 kilograms of illicit substances worth over Rs. 18 crore.
The ANF’s successful raids led to the arrest of six suspects, with significant recoveries made in various regions. At Islamabad International Airport, 84 heroin-filled capsules were found concealed in the stomach of a passenger bound for Jeddah.
In Balochistan, the ANF recovered 96 kilograms of heroin from the Mastung and Safiullah areas. In Islamabad, 3.6 kilograms of opium and 21.6 kilograms of hashish were seized from a vehicle near the M1 Motorway, with two suspects apprehended.
Further recoveries were made in Rawalpindi, where 6 kilograms of heroin were seized from a car near a bus stop on Srinagar Highway, resulting in the arrest of two suspects. An additional 3.6 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a suspect near Sangjani Toll Plaza in Islamabad.
The arrested suspects have been charged under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations are underway to dismantle the narcotics networks involved.
