Textbooks sold to peddler in Larkana, Special Secretary appointed as inquiry officer

LARKANA: After went viral news of the sale of primary curriculum textbooks sold by the Education Department to a peddler in Larkana, the provincial government took strict notice. The higher authorities appointed Special Secretary School Education Syed Imdad Ali Shah as an inquiry officer. He reached Larkana and visited the warehouse and the peddler’s shop and inspected the textbooks. During this, math and science books, including math books of the year 2023, were recovered in 7 bags. The Special Secretary Education has started such an investigation. In this regard, Special Secretary Education Syed Imdad Ali Shah met the peddler who bought the textbooks and obtained complete information. Speaking to the media on this occasion, Special Secretary School Education Syed Imdad Ali Shah said that the news went viral in the media that the books distributed in schools and published by the Sindh Textbook Board Jamshoro have been sold to a peddler. In this regard, on the orders of the Provincial Minister of Education, An inquiry was held in which I was appointed as an inquiry officer, after which I came to Larkana and recovered the primary curriculum textbooks sold at a junk shop. He added that the Sindh Textbook Board did not have enough planning and the education department officials used to collect so many enrollment figures, so they used to get only what they wanted. He said that the new academic year will start from April, in which we will collect the figures together with the education department officials to distribute free books to the students and the Sindh Textbook Board will provide free textbooks in the first week of April.
