ANF CRACKS DOWN ON NARCOTICS SMUGGLING, ARRESTS 13 SUSPECTS

ISLAMABAD:/QTA/PESHAWAR JAN. 27. The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has launched a nationwide operation against narcotics smuggling, arresting 13 suspects and seizing over 150 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs 3 crore.

The operation, which targeted educational institutions and various cities across the country, resulted in significant recoveries. In Sindh, 4.5 kilograms of charas were recovered from two suspects near Petaro Toll Plaza in Jamshoro. In Islamabad, 600 grams of heroin were recovered from a car near a university, and two suspects were arrested.

The arrested suspects confessed to selling narcotics to students at educational institutions. Other recoveries included:

– Islamabad International Airport: 2 kilograms of ice recovered from a passenger’s trolley bag
– Multan International Airport: 16 narcotic tablets recovered from a passenger’s trolley bag
– Peshawar: 40.8 kilograms of charas and 26.4 kilograms of opium recovered from a car near GT Road Toll Plaza, with one suspect arrested
– Balochistan: 28 kilograms of opium and 10 kilograms of crystal heroin recovered from the Winder area of Hub

The ANF’s operation is part of its efforts to curb the spread of narcotics in the country.
