Defend Sindh’s Land and Water! Historic Peasant Conference to Challenge Anti-Farmer Policies on February 16
Hyderabad , February 12– A grand Peasant Rights Conference is set to take place in Bhit Shah on 16 February to resist anti-farmer policies threatening land and water. The conference will strongly oppose proposed amendments to the IRSA Act that allow canal extractions from the Indus River, the transfer of agricultural lands to corporate giants under the guise of corporate farming and the imposition of unjust agricultural taxes on farmers and peasants.
Political and social leaders, along with progressive voices from Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Seraiki region will stand in solidarity with farmers in this landmark event. Organized jointly by the Sindhi Hari Tehreek and Pakistan Kisan Rabita Committee, the conference aims to unite communities against policies that threaten the livelihoods of millions.
Awami Tehreek calls upon the people of Sindh to join this historic movement and raise their voices for their rights, their land, and their future.
