NICVD Cardiac Satellite Center to be established at DHQ Hospital Mirpur Mathelo, Says Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar

Mirpur Mathelo, March 12, 2025: Sindh Provincial Minister for Agriculture, Anti-Corruption, Sports, and Youth Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Mahar, announced that a cardiac satellite center of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) will be established at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital to improve healthcare facilities and ensure basic health services for the people of Ghotki.
The minister expressed these views while presiding over a meeting at the DC Complex Mirpur Mathelo, called to discuss improvements to the DHQ Hospital. The meeting was attended by Ghotki Deputy Commissioner Dr. Syed Muhammad Ali, Vice Chairman District Council Mir Babar Khan Lound, DHO Dr. Rao Aftab, and representatives of industrial organizations.
Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Mahar stated, “DHQ Hospital is the largest healthcare facility in the district, and we aim to upgrade it further to provide basic health services to the people.” He added that he had urged the Provincial Health Minister to address the shortage of doctors and staff, while industrial organizations were directed to step forward and provide emergency support for hospital facilities.
The Provincial Minister instructed the Deputy Commissioner and DHO to prepare a master plan for hospital improvements and share it with industrial organizations to secure their cooperation. Representatives from OGDCL Qadirpur Gas Field and Engro Fertilizer assured the minister of their full support in upgrading the DHQ Hospital. They pledged to prioritize establishing a trauma center and improving dialysis facilities in the first phase.
Earlier, the Sindh Provincial Minister visited various departments of the DHQ Hospital, including the trauma center, dialysis center, and cardiac center, and received a detailed briefing. He directed the Deputy Commissioner to draft a proposal for setting up the cardiac satellite center and coordinate with relevant authorities to expedite its establishment.
