Three persons killed, 21 injured in bomb explosion on Double Road in Quetta
QUETTA: Three persons were killed while 21 others including four police cops and two children got injured in a powerful bomb explosion took place on Double Road in Quetta on Thursday afternoon.
According to the police, the bomb exploded close to a police mobile van near a local Baraich market on Double Road.
As a result of explosion, three persons were killed while 21 others injured. The rescue and police teams rushed towards the spot and shifted the bodies of deceased and injured persons to the Sandeman Provincial Headquarter Hospital.
The Police Surgeon of Sandeman, Dr. Ayesha Faiz confirmed that bodies of three deceased and 21 injured have been brought in the Sandeman Hospital.
She informed that condition of at least four persons is critical. However, all injured are being provided medical assistance in the Sandeman Hospital and Trauma center, she added.
Meanwhile, the police informed that around 2.5 kilogram of explosive material was used in the blast, which was planted in a motorcycle.
The blast was carried out through a remote-control device, the police sources informed. Apparently, the police vehicle was targeted in the bomb blast.
Meanwhile, the spokesman of provincial government, Shahid Rind condemned the bomb blast on double road.
He said that the emergency was declared in the Sandeman Hospital soon after the blast, and all doctors and other medical staff were called in there.
