Jaffar Express resumes operation from Quetta to Peshawar after 17 days of suspension

QUETTA: The Jaffar Express resumed its operation from Quetta Railway Station to Peshawar on Friday morning when it departed carrying over 400 passengers.
The Member National Assembly belonging to Quetta, Jamal Shah Kakar inaugurated the resumption of Jaffar Express by formally cutting ribbon at the Quetta Railway Station.
Also present on the occasion were Divisional Superintendent of Railways, Imran Hayat and other high ups.
Strict security measures were adopted on occasion of the departure of Jaffar Express at the Quetta Railway Station and around.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media persons, Jamal Shah Kakar expressed contentment over resumption of Jaffar Express from Quetta.
He said that he is thankful to Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Federal Minister Railways, Hanif Abbasi on resumption of the train service from Quetta.
He said that while the Jaffar Express is resuming its operation from Quetta, the Bolan Mail would also be run on daily basis, which would facilitate the passengers leaving for other parts of the country.
To a query regarding law and order, the MNA said that after passage of 18th amendment, it is responsibility of the provincial government to ensure law and order.
It may be mentioned here that Jaffar Express’s operation was suspended from Quetta since March 11, 2025, after it was attacked in Mushkaf area of Kachhi district.
Prior to it, Jaffar Express had resumed its operation from Sibi Railway station on Thursday.
