Student influencers, academia, and government join forces to showcase Balochistan’s untapped economic potential
Quetta, May 9, 2025 — In a landmark initiative aimed at bridging the gap between youth, government, and industry, the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT) in collaboration with the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) organized a major event titled “Rising Balochistan: Innovation and Opportunities.”
Held on the BUITEMS campus in Quetta, the event served as a dynamic platform to foster innovation, highlight investment opportunities, and strengthen linkages between academia, public sector institutions, and industry.
In a unique approach, student social media influencers from across Balochistan were invited to attend and engage with key government departments. These young digital voices received exclusive briefings on the province’s economic strengths, sectoral prospects, and startup incentives. Their participation aimed to amplify Balochistan’s message of potential and progress across digital platforms.
Leadership Voices Inspire a Forward Vision
Vice Chairman of BBoIT, Mr. Bilal Khan Kakar, emphasized the significance of youth engagement in shaping the province’s future:
“This event is more than a dialogue — it’s a movement. By engaging students, innovators, and digital influencers, we’re not just telling Balochistan’s economic story — we’re empowering its future storytellers. This is the Balochistan we believe in: connected, creative, and full of promise.”
He further announced that BBoIT will continue its youth-focused outreach through future innovation summits, investment forums, and digital engagement campaigns to ensure sustained momentum.
Vice Chancellor of BUITEMS, Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez, lauded the event as a visionary step for youth empowerment, stating:
“We are proud to host this initiative. Our students are not only future professionals but also current influencers and changemakers. Their active engagement is key to building a brighter, more innovative Balochistan.”
Bridging Policy and Potential
Participants welcomed the event as a rare and much-needed effort to align provincial development strategies with youth aspirations. Influencers pledged to promote Balochistan’s image and opportunities through their digital platforms. Faculty members and industry representatives called for such events to become a regular feature of the province’s development roadmap.
The “Rising Balochistan” initiative marks a strategic shift toward inclusive development, ensuring that youth are not only beneficiaries but active architects of Balochistan’s growth story.
