Gwadar, October 13:
A new round of the national polio eradication campaign began in Gwadar and Pasni, with Assistant Commissioner Mahim Khan Gichki administering the first drops to children under five.

The campaign aims to immunize thousands of children across the coastal belt as part of Pakistan’s renewed effort to eliminate the poliovirus from its last remaining pockets. Health teams have been deployed in both urban and rural areas to ensure no child is left behind.

Addressing the launching ceremony, Assistant Commissioner Gichki appealed to parents to fully cooperate with the vaccination teams and urged community elders to play their role in raising awareness. She emphasized that polio remains a preventable disease and that “every child vaccinated is a step toward a safer, healthier Pakistan.”

Health authorities have also launched a monitoring cell to oversee daily progress and respond quickly to field challenges. The Gwadar administration reaffirmed its commitment to achieve 100% coverage during the campaign
