Naseerabad, Oct.19 Deputy Commissioner Munir Ahmed Khan Kakar took strong notice of artificial price hikes in tomatoes and directed Assistant Commissioner Dera Murad Jamali, Bahadur Khan Khosa, to immediately act against profiteers.
Following the orders, the Assistant Commissioner and his team conducted surprise inspections of markets, vegetable stalls, and trading centers across the city. Several shopkeepers selling tomatoes above official rates were fined on the spot, while others were warned of strict legal action for future violations.
Speaking to the media, AC Khosa said, “Providing relief to the public is our top priority. No one will be allowed to exploit consumers through illegal profiteering.”
He added that daily market monitoring is underway to ensure full compliance with official price lists and urged citizens to report any profiteering incidents directly to the district administration for immediate redressal.
