QUETTA, Oct 25: Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has said that after years of consistent effort and focus, all public sector universities in the province have been successfully steered out of crises and are now moving toward long-term stability and development.

He said this remarkable achievement reflects the collective efforts of all vice chancellors and the Governor House team, who helped turn his vision for advancing higher education in Balochistan into reality.

“Our next strategic priority is to enhance capacity-building measures aligned with 21st-century requirements,” the Governor said, “to promote social and economic development across the region through all public universities and their campuses.”

He expressed these views during a meeting with Minister of State for Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar. The Governor said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and with the guidance and support of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Ministry of Education, higher education in Balochistan has made significant progress.

“Their combined efforts are empowering the youth with modern skills and quality education, enabling them to play a key role in the province’s socio-economic advancement,” he added.

Mandokhail said that this collaborative spirit positions Balochistan to frame a comprehensive education strategy meeting global standards while addressing local needs. He also highlighted that HEC’s vast experience in higher education, artificial intelligence, and information technology—especially in quality education and online learning—has benefited the province’s universities in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
