Governor Mandokhail: Balochistan’s Universities Emerging Stronger — Focus Now on 21st Century Skills and Innovation
QUETTA, Oct 25: Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has said that after a long struggle and consistent focus, all public sector universities in Balochistan have successfully been steered out of crises and are now on a steady course toward lasting stability and progress.
He said this remarkable transformation stands as a testament to the collective efforts of the vice chancellors and the dedicated Governor House team who helped turn his vision for higher education in the province into reality.
“Our next strategic priority,” the Governor said, “is to expand capacity-building initiatives aligned with the modern requirements of the 21st century — with the aim of driving social and economic development across the region through our public universities and their campuses.”
Governor Mandokhail expressed these views during a meeting with Minister of State for Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar.
He said it is a matter of great fortune that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and with the continued support and guidance of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, higher education in Balochistan has witnessed significant advancement.
“Their joint efforts have played a vital role in empowering the youth of Balochistan with modern skills and quality education — enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the province’s economic and social growth, in line with our shared vision for regional progress,” the Governor remarked.
He added that through this collaborative spirit, Balochistan is now well positioned to formulate a comprehensive educational strategy that meets global standards while addressing local needs.
Highlighting HEC’s vast experience in higher education, artificial intelligence, and information technology, Governor Mandokhail noted that quality education initiatives and online learning programs had already greatly benefited the province’s universities in the past and would continue to do so in the future — ensuring that Balochistan remains at the forefront of educational innovation and excellence.
