A total of 3,121 nomination papers were submitted by the candidates for local government elections on 641 general wards in 172 union councils of four towns of Quetta.
The process of filing of nomination papers with the Returning Officers by the candidates remained continued from November 13 to 17, 2025.
According to the sources of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), a total of 3,871 nomination papers were issued by the Returning Officers in all four towns of Quetta including Zarghoon, Takatu, Sariab and Chiltan.
The Returning Officers of Zarghoon Town received 918 nomination papers while the ROs of Chiltan Town collected 701 papers.
Similarly, the ROs of Sariab Town and Takatu Town received 562 and 940 nomination papers respectively.
Meanwhile, the process of scrutiny of the nomination papers by the ROs is scheduled to start from today (Wednesday).
The sources of ECP told that the process of scrutiny of papers would remain continued till November 24. Afterwards, the appeals would be filed against the decisions of the ROs about rejection and acceptance of the papers.
Last date for filing of the appeals has been fixed as November 28, 2025.
