Forbes Praises Punjab’s “Suthra Punjab” Program

Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bukhari said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Suthra Punjab Program has gained international recognition. After acknowledgement from the U.S. Congress, global magazine Forbes has now praised the initiative.

 

Azma Bukhari said Forbes has recognized that Maryam Nawaz resolved a 75-year-old cleanliness problem within months. She added that the program has eliminated the long-standing gap between urban and rural sanitation standards, ensuring the same level of services in remote villages as in city centers.

 

The minister said the program promoted local industry and created 140,000 new jobs. She added that governments around the world are now looking to learn from Punjab’s model. According to her, Maryam Nawaz’s sincerity and speedy governance have earned her appreciation both nationally and globally.
