Governor Punjab Sardar Salim Haider Khan emphasized that every citizen must contribute to Pakistan’s progress without discrimination, and that a clear conscience is paramount. Speaking at a ceremony organized by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on the International Anti-Corruption Day in Lahore, he said NAB must uphold legal standards while respecting public dignity. He highlighted the need to focus on public welfare projects in education, health, and energy to ensure a prosperous and stable Pakistan.
The Governor described corruption not just as a legal issue but as a social, ethical, and developmental challenge affecting trust, growth, and justice. He called on all individuals, regardless of their institution, to act with integrity in public interest. He praised NAB Lahore’s efforts, noting its rapid and significant achievements in combating corruption as evidence of a robust and transparent accountability system.
Sardar Salim Haider Khan reaffirmed that the Pakistan People’s Party supports strong, independent institutions to investigate corruption impartially. He stressed that accountability must follow legal standards and transparency, and should never be used for political revenge. He concluded that unity, merit, and transparency are essential to building a successful society.
The event was attended by NAB Director General Mirza Farran Baig, NAB officials, and representatives from civil society, education, and media sectors.
