Jaffarabad Intensifies Polio Fight as DC Calls for United Community Action

JAFFARABAD, Jan 28: Deputy Commissioner Jaffarabad Khalid Khan has emphasized that the active participation of parents and local communities is crucial to the success of the ongoing anti-polio campaign, urging citizens to extend full cooperation to vaccination teams to help make the district polio-free.
He made these remarks while formally launching the district-wide anti-polio drive by administering polio drops to children. The inauguration ceremony was attended by District Health Officer Dr Abdul Mannan Lakti, PPHI DSM Faisal Iqbal Khosa, representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), and senior officials from the health department.
After the launch, a detailed review meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Khalid Khan, during which officials briefed participants on the planning, logistics, and arrangements finalized for the campaign. Addressing the meeting, the deputy commissioner said the polio eradication initiative must succeed under all circumstances, with all available resources deployed to ensure the widest possible coverage.
He instructed vaccination teams to carry out comprehensive door-to-door visits to administer polio drops to children under the age of five, stressing that no child should be missed. Khalid Khan further highlighted that close coordination between the district administration, health authorities, and community representatives is essential to eliminating the disease from the area.
Reiterating the administration’s resolve, the deputy commissioner stated that strict monitoring mechanisms will remain in place throughout the campaign to ensure effective implementation and achieve complete immunization across the district.
