Blasphemous Sketches of the Prophet of Islam are Provocative, Condemnable: Hanif Tayyab

Karachi, July 2, 2025 : Chairman of Nizam-e-Mustafa Party and former Federal Minister of Petroleum Dr. Haji Muhammad Hanif Tayyab expressed deep sorrow and anger over the blasphemous sketches published in the Turkish weekly satirical magazine “LeMan”.

He strongly condemned these sketches, calling them a reprehensible act of provocation and an attempt to hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims globally.

Dr. Tayyab emphasized that no religious system or nation allows insulting any religion, spiritual leaders, or holy places in the name of freedom of expression. Rather, they demand the prohibition and severe punishment of those who spread religious hatred and animosity.

The former minister said that as a Muslim country, Turkey has always demonstrated respect for the prophets, as evidenced by its strong reaction to this incident. The strong public reaction and the immediate arrest of the artist and his associates by the Turkish administration are commendable. He stressed that insults to prophets and other sacred religious figures will not be tolerated.

Dr. Tayyab demanded that the Turkish authorities identify and severely punish those involved in the preparation of these offensive images and their supporters.
