CHAMAN: Awami National Party (ANP) Provincial President Asghar Khan Achakzai has announced that a grand jirga of political parties, tribal elders, traders, and social organizations will be held on September 24 at Shohada House, Murda Karez, Chaman, to confront rising terrorism, unemployment, and the worsening law and order situation.
Addressing a press conference at Chaman Press Club, Achakzai said a collective decision is needed to counter repeated bomb blasts and economic strangulation in the region.
“We will not allow fear and terror to take root on our land,” he declared.
He alleged that a deliberate plan was being imposed to cut off employment opportunities and leave people vulnerable to terrorists and criminals. Achakzai urged the public to actively join the jirga to send a strong message of unity, adding that future protest demonstrations could also be announced as part of the jirga’s decisions.
