Gilgit, Oct 2, : Karakoram International University (KIU) hosted a grand event under the auspices of the Confucius Institute of Professional Development to commemorate Chinese National Day. The event was attended by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Attaullah Shah as the chief guest.
In his address, the Vice Chancellor highlighted that Chinese National Day symbolizes China’s independence and progress, and reflects the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China. He emphasized that initiatives like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) strengthen bilateral ties, and cultural events like this foster educational exchange. He encouraged students and faculty to learn Chinese language and culture and praised the services of the Confucius Institute.
Dr. Aftab Ahmad Khan, Director of the Confucius Institute, spoke about the historical significance of the day, emphasizing that unity and hard work can help nations achieve greatness. Chinese instructor Aziz Ahmad Khan highlighted the importance of cultural understanding, stating that learning a language opens doors to understanding an entire civilization. The event was attended by a large number of students, faculty, and staff.
