PESHAWAR, Oct 18 — Report by Muhammad Zeb:
A severe dengue outbreak has gripped the provincial capital Peshawar, turning daily life miserable for residents. The virus has spread rapidly across the city — especially in areas surrounding Warsak Road, including Mathra, Kochian, Gara, Apple Stop, and Machini — where almost every household has at least one infected member.

Locals blame the worsening situation on the administration’s failure to conduct proper fumigation and anti-mosquito campaigns. Overflowing garbage, stagnant water, and poor sanitation in streets and drains have accelerated the spread of the disease.

Hospitals across the city are reporting an alarming surge in dengue patients, with shortages of beds and testing kits worsening the crisis. Citizens fear more fatalities if the government does not act swiftly.

Public representatives and residents have urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister and the Health Department to immediately launch a large-scale fumigation drive, improve sanitation, and raise public awareness to prevent further loss of life.
