Governor Balochistan Highlights Investment and Cultural Cooperation with Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner

Quetta, October 18: Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has said that Pakistan and Bangladesh are two brotherly Islamic countries enjoying deep and cordial relations. He expressed satisfaction over the keen interest of Bangladeshi investors in exploring investment opportunities in Balochistan’s agriculture, fisheries, and manufacturing sectors.

During a meeting with Bangladesh’s Deputy High Commissioner to Pakistan, Mohammad Saqib Sadaqat, the Governor said that both nations can greatly benefit from sharing expertise in disaster management, considering the similar geographical risks of earthquakes and floods faced by both regions.

Governor Mandokhail highlighted profitable investment prospects in Balochistan, particularly in the sectors of agriculture, minerals, energy, and infrastructure development. He said that Bangladesh’s experience in small cottage industries provides valuable insights that can help Pakistan enhance women’s participation in economic activities. “Women make up more than half of our population; creating new business and employment opportunities for them is essential,” he added.

He further emphasized that cultural exchange programs are vital to strengthening people-to-people connections and mutual understanding between Pakistan and Bangladesh. The Governor noted that new and dynamic approaches to cultural collaboration could bring the two regions closer than ever.

Referring to cooperation in the education sector, Governor Mandokhail suggested student exchange programs, faculty development initiatives, and academic collaboration between universities of Balochistan and Bangladesh. He said such initiatives would strengthen bilateral academic relations and promote intellectual growth.

Governor Mandokhail concluded that both nations should learn from each other’s experience in handling natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods, underscoring the need for close cooperation in disaster preparedness and management.
