RAWALPINDI, Dec 6 — Security forces killed nine militants linked to the Indian-sponsored network Fitna Al-Khwarij in two intelligence-driven operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military said on Saturday.

According to ISPR, the first operation was launched in Tank District on December 5 following reports of militant presence. Troops engaged the hideout with precision, and after an intense exchange of fire, seven militants were eliminated.

A second intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat District led to the killing of two more militants, who were effectively neutralised during the firefight.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the dead militants, who, according to the military, were involved in multiple attacks targeting security forces, law-enforcement agencies, and civilians.

Sanitisation of the area is underway as part of the ongoing counterterrorism drive under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” framework approved by the Federal Apex Committee. The military stated that operations will continue at full pace to dismantle all foreign-sponsored terrorist networks operating inside Pakistan.
