Sindh Human Rights Department Highlights Urgent Action Against Online Gender-Based Violence

Karachi, December 12, 2025: The Sindh Human Rights Department, represented by Director Aga Fakhr Hussain, attended a UNFPA and FCDO-supported roundtable organized by Legal Aid Society under the “Aawaz II Program” to address the rise of technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV).

Hussain noted increasing cases of cyber harassment, stalking, blackmail, and non-consensual content sharing, urging coordinated responses between government, law enforcement, civil society, and digital platforms. The department reaffirmed its commitment to stronger policies, victim support, accountability, official training, and public awareness to ensure safer digital spaces for women.
