Naseerabad / Kachhi / Sibi, December 21, 2025 — A fresh wave of armed robberies and violent incidents along the National Highway has triggered public unrest and raised serious concerns over law and order in parts of Balochistan, with multiple districts reporting criminal activity and injuries to security personnel.
In Naseerabad, armed robbers looted people returning from a gathering within the limits of Notal police station. Following the incident, angry protesters blocked the National Highway N-65 at Notal, causing long queues of vehicles on both sides of the road. Demonstrators accused the local police administration of failing to maintain law and order, alleging that armed criminals routinely rob travelers and escape without resistance.
Meanwhile, the Balanari area of Kachhi district has reportedly become a hotspot for criminal activity. Armed robbers were looting passengers on National Highway N-65 when a Bakhtiarabad Levies official reached the scene. An exchange of fire ensued, during which the Levies personnel, identified as Shah Ali, sustained gunshot injuries. The injured official was returning to duty from leave at the time of the incident. Following the report, Assistant Commissioner Bakhtiarabad Mir Bahadur Khan Bangulzai and SHO Levies Bakhtiarabad rushed to the area with additional force to initiate action against the criminals.
In Sibi, a separate incident occurred at the Limji area on the national highway, where Levies Force personnel exchanged fire with armed robbers who had set up a checkpoint to loot travelers. During the encounter, one Levies soldier was injured. Officials confirmed that the firing continued for some time before the assailants fled.
Residents have expressed grave concern over deteriorating security along major highways and demanded immediate, effective measures to curb armed robberies and ensure the safety of commuters.
