NASIRABAD: The Grand Alliance Nasirabad Division has entered the third phase of its protest, announcing that demonstrations will continue until approval of the Disparity Reduction Allowance (DRA) and other demands.
Under the leadership of Divisional President Abdullah Baloch, a three-day protest camp has been set up from December 24 to 26 outside the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Press Club. Hundreds of employees from various government departments participated, raising slogans in support of their demands.
Addressing the gathering, alliance leaders said government employees were facing severe financial hardships due to rising inflation and the continued delay in accepting legitimate demands. They added that despite repeated assurances from authorities, no concrete steps had been taken, terming the situation unjust and disappointing.
Leaders warned that if demands were not accepted immediately, the protest would be expanded further. They announced a complete lockdown on December 30 and 31, during which all government offices, educational institutions and health facilities would remain closed. A protest demonstration and sit-in on the national highway were also announced.
Several political, religious and social leaders visited the camp and expressed solidarity with the Grand Alliance, reaffirming support for employees’ constitutional and democratic struggle.
