Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Syed Imran Ahmed Shah on Tuesday reviewed medical and financial assistance arrangements for deserving patients at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) under Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM).
Islamabad — Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Syed Imran Ahmed Shah on Tuesday reviewed medical and financial assistance arrangements for deserving patients at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) under Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM).
During the visit, the Executive Director PIMS briefed the minister on patient facilitation mechanisms, treatment services and coordination with PBM. Officials informed him that more than 2,100 patients received assistance at PIMS through PBM during 2024–25.
The minister directed that case processing, particularly for emergency and life-saving treatments, be made faster and more patient-friendly. He also ordered the reactivation of a permanent PBM facilitation counter at PIMS to guide applicants.
Speaking to the media, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah said over 1,000 patients have already been supported in the current fiscal year. He added that PBM’s budget has been increased from Rs10 billion to Rs14 billion, and similar review visits will continue nationwide.
