Gwadar, Jan 4, 2026:
Residents of Gwadar welcomed the New Year with colorful, family-oriented celebrations at Model Beach Park, where women and children took center stage in marking the beginning of 2026 with music, cultural activities, and fireworks.
Organized under the auspices of the Gwadar Development Authority in collaboration with the locally run Baloch Insight Café, the event attracted large crowds to Gwadar’s dedicated women-and-children recreational park. Musical performances, cultural showcases, and interactive games created a festive atmosphere, particularly engaging families and young participants.
The celebrations concluded with a fireworks display that illuminated the coastline, drawing applause for performances by local youth musicians and artists. Participants said such events foster social harmony, cultural awareness, and positive community engagement.
Model Beach Park, developed by the GDA, is Gwadar’s only recreational space exclusively designed for women and children, offering a secure and peaceful environment for families. A key attraction was the Baloch Insight Café, founded by three local women entrepreneurs, which has emerged as a symbol of women’s empowerment and inclusive economic participation in the port city.
Observers note that women’s growing visibility in community spaces, entrepreneurship, and higher education reflects a broader social transformation underway in Gwadar.
