ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has conducted a nationwide crackdown against drug trafficking, seizing 175 kilograms of narcotics worth over Rs133 million and arresting one suspect in three separate operations, officials said.
In the first operation at Bacha Khan International Airport, ANF officials recovered one kilogram of crystal meth (ice) from the luggage of a passenger travelling to Bahrain. The suspect was arrested on the spot.
In another action near Haji Camp, Peshawar, ANF recovered 60 kilograms of hashish concealed inside kneader machines at a courier office.
The third operation was carried out at Balkasar Interchange, Kallar Kahar, where 114 kilograms of hashish were recovered from secret compartments of a vehicle.
According to an ANF spokesperson, cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway.
