Swabi:
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi led a large political rally in Swabi district on Friday as part of his party’s ongoing “street movement,” warning that the health of former prime minister Imran Khan was a matter of serious concern.
The rally passed through several areas, including Aman Chowk and Topi, before concluding at Anbar, drawing significant participation from supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Addressing crowds at multiple locations, Afridi alleged that Khan’s illness had been concealed and claimed a medical procedure was carried out without transparency. He said requests for access by Khan’s personal doctors were denied despite repeated appeals.
Afridi said the movement aimed solely at securing Khan’s release, urging supporters to remain disciplined and peaceful while exercising their constitutional right to protest. He accused political opponents of undermining democratic mandates and said decisions taken “behind closed doors” had damaged stability in the province.
The chief minister said protests would continue nationwide and called on supporters to remain prepared ahead of February 8, while stressing that peaceful action remained within constitutional limits.
