The Federal Constitutional Court has reserved its verdict on petitions related to Quetta’s local government elections and constituency delimitations. A two-member bench headed by Justice Aamer Farooq heard the case and observed that a clear election timeline would be provided in the final judgment. Justice Farooq questioned the prolonged delay, noting that Quetta’s limited geographical area does not justify extended delimitation. Justice Rozi Khan remarked that the process could be completed within weeks. The Election Commission stated it required 90 days, while the Balochistan Advocate General sought time to consult the provincial government. The bench expressed concern over repeated postponements and emphasized constitutional responsibility regarding local governance.
