Karachi, 5 February 2026: The Consulate-General of Japan in Karachi hosted the “Emperor’s Birthday Reception” to celebrate the 66th birthday of His Majesty, Emperor Naruhito, at the Marriott Hotel. The event was attended by Governor Sindh H.E. Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani, and prominent figures from various sectors.
Consul General Hattori Masaru expressed pleasure in hosting his third national day reception in Karachi, emphasizing the strong and longstanding relations between Japan and Pakistan. He highlighted Japan’s contributions to Pakistan’s socio-economic development, particularly in disaster prevention, healthcare, and education, and reaffirmed commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation.
Governor Sindh congratulated Japan on its national day, noting Japan’s support for Pakistani workers and students, and stressed further collaboration across Sindh’s sectors. The celebration featured traditional Ikebana and Bonsai displays, along with a ceremonial cake-cutting and a dinner showcasing Japanese and Pakistani cuisine, symbolizing enduring friendship between the two nations.
