Islamabad: Pakistan’s National Emergency Operations Centre reported that over 42.2 million children received polio drops in the first four days of the nationwide campaign. The synchronized drive runs simultaneously in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Punjab vaccinated over 22.4 million children, Sindh 9.58 million, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 6.76 million, Balochistan 2.05 million, and Islamabad 454,000. Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir recorded over 261,000 and 673,000 children vaccinated respectively. Over 400,000 polio workers are deployed for house-to-house vaccination, ensuring coverage in every area. The campaign highlights Pakistan’s commitment to eradicating polio and safeguarding child health nationwide.
