Independent Report
Kandhkot, March 2026: Residents of Kandhkot Subdivision One have raised concerns over unscheduled and prolonged load shedding during Ramadan, reporting daily electricity outages of 14 to 16 hours. Citizens say the power cuts disrupt suhoor, iftar, and Taraweeh prayers, creating significant hardship for fasting individuals.
Although SEPCO Chief Ijaz Ahmed Channa had instructed that load shedding should not exceed 8 hours and that electricity would remain available during suhoor, iftar, and prayer times, the local subdivision administration reportedly ignored these directives.
Affected residents have urged SEPCO Chief to investigate the irregular and unethical practices of the subdivision’s administration and to take strict action against those responsible.
