Panjgur : The escalating tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States have caused severe shortages of petrol, gas, and daily essentials in the border city of Panjgur, Balochistan, leaving residents struggling with skyrocketing prices.

Petrol prices have surged from Rs 150–160 per liter to Rs 300–350, while 10-kilogram gas cylinders, previously sold for Rs 2,000, are now being sold between Rs 3,000 and 3,500. Essential food items, including Iranian dairy products and other groceries, have become scarce in local markets.

Panjgur relies heavily on neighboring Iran for petrol, diesel, LPG gas, and other essential commodities. Due to the ongoing regional tensions, the supply from Iran has been disrupted, causing significant price hikes. Local traders who normally import these commodities from Iran are struggling to meet demand, further compounding residents’ difficulties.

“The current conflict has severely affected our city. Prices of petrol, gas, and daily essentials are reaching unprecedented levels, and ordinary citizens are facing extreme hardships,” said a local shopkeeper.

Most households in Panjgur depend on Iranian imports for their basic needs and livelihood. The disruption has not only impacted daily consumption but also the local economy, as many residents rely on the trade of Iranian goods for employment.

The situation has left residents frustrated and anxious, as essential commodities remain scarce while prices continue to rise.
