QUETTA, 16 March: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) will expand its jurisdiction in Balochistan to divisional level to effectively combat cybercrimes and other federal offenses.
The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. The session focused on strengthening institutional capacity to address cybercrime, financial fraud, and other federal-level offenses across the province.
It was decided that FIA offices will be established in various divisions to provide citizens with efficient local-level facilities for registering complaints and addressing cyber and federal crimes.
Director FIA Balochistan, Bahram Khan Mandokhail, was commended for his professional performance, and it was agreed that local talent from Balochistan will be recruited to enhance the agency’s capacity while creating employment opportunities for provincial youth.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of strong coordination between federal and provincial governments to ensure law enforcement, combat cybercrimes, and take all necessary measures for effective crime prevention in the province.
