Anti-polio campaign to be kicked off in Balochistan from February 3
QUETTA: The anti-polio campaign is scheduled to be launched in Balochistan province from February 3, 2025.
According to the official sources, the necessary arrangements are being made for the forthcoming immunization campaign for eradication of polio in the province.
More than 2.6 million children below five years of age would be administered the anti-polio vaccine during the campaign in all 36 districts of the province.
The sources said that over 10,000 mobile teams would be constituted to achieve the target of immunization in the campaign.
It may be mentioned here that polio virus was detected in the environmental samples of as many as 10 districts of the province in December last year.
In view of the presence of polio virus, the upcoming campaign is being considered crucial for its eradication.
