Lahore, May 17, 2026: Punjab Emergency Services responded to 1,301 road traffic crashes across the province during the past 24 hours, resulting in 14 deaths and 1,536 injuries, the Rescue Punjab spokesperson said on Saturday.
According to the data, 684 people sustained serious injuries and were shifted to hospitals, while 852 with minor injuries were treated at the scene, easing pressure on healthcare facilities.
Motorcycles accounted for 78 percent of all incidents, highlighting persistent road safety concerns. The report stated that 886 drivers, 59 underage drivers, 499 passengers, and 165 pedestrians were among the affected.
Lahore reported the highest number with 280 crashes and 346 victims, followed by Faisalabad with 95 crashes and Multan with 83. Officials urged strict enforcement of traffic laws and lane discipline to reduce rising road accidents across Punjab.
