Questions Raised Over Reported Drug Seizure in Sakrand, Calls Grow for Independent Investigation

SAKRAND: Questions have emerged over a reported anti-narcotics operation in Sakrand after conflicting claims surfaced regarding the quantity of drugs allegedly seized during a police raid in the Old Sabu Raho area.

Police confirmed the registration of a case involving 20 bags of narcotics, the seizure of a Toyota Corolla and the arrest of one suspect, adding that investigations are ongoing. However, local sources and members of civil society have claimed that a larger quantity of narcotics may have been recovered during the operation. These claims have not been independently verified.

The differing accounts have prompted demands for a transparent and impartial inquiry. Community representatives have urged the Sindh Government, Inspector General of Police Sindh and other relevant authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly and make the findings public if any irregularities are established.
