In a major operation against illegal contraband, Shahdadkot Police intercepted a suspected Toyota XLI vehicle reportedly arriving from Usta Muhammad, Balochistan, and recovered 90 bundles of betel nuts (supari) and 70 cartons of cigarettes of various brands, according to police sources.
Police arrested two suspects, identified as Gul Muhammad Brohi and Imran Khokhar, both said to be residents of Usta Muhammad, Balochistan. A case has been registered against them under the relevant provisions of the law, and further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, SSP Qambar Hasan Sardar Niazi has directed Head Constable Mashooq Oad of Imam Bakhsh Police Station and police personnel Bashir Magassi and Mushtaq Jalbani to immediately report to Qambar Headquarters over alleged links with suspected drug traffickers. Departmental scrutiny is expected to follow.
Police sources said the crackdown against narcotics and illegal contraband will be intensified across the district, adding that no leniency will be shown toward anyone found involved in unlawful activities.
