THATTA: Thatta Police have ruled out sabotage in the fire incident at Al-Hurra Usmania Mosque, saying preliminary investigations indicate the blaze was accidental.

According to a police statement, an immediate inquiry was launched after the incident to determine its cause. The initial investigation found no evidence of terrorism, arson, or any deliberate act.

Police said that Special Branch Constable Bilawal Daoch had arrived at the mosque to offer prayers when a petrol bottle, reportedly left behind by a worshipper, allegedly burst due to heat pressure or another accidental reason. The resulting fire spread to shoes kept inside the mosque, causing a minor blaze.

The fire was quickly brought under control and no casualties or injuries were reported. Police also clarified that no outsider entered the mosque to start the fire and that a police official was already present at the scene when the incident occurred.

Thatta Police have urged the public not to believe or circulate unverified information or rumours regarding the incident and to rely only on official statements issued by the relevant authorities. The findings are based on the police’s preliminary investigation.
