Lahore, July 17: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab government is implementing far-reaching reforms in education, healthcare and public transport to ensure the benefits of development reach every city and every section of society.
She said the government is investing in the future of young people by providing laptops, scholarships and electric bikes, while the Nawaz Sharif School of Eminence project will promote academic excellence through high-quality education and modern learning opportunities.
Azma Bokhari said significant progress has also been made in the healthcare sector, with the Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital in Lahore and the Cardiology Hospital in Sargodha completed. She added that patients at government hospitals across Punjab are receiving free medicines and essential diagnostic tests, improving access to quality healthcare.
Highlighting transport reforms, she said the network of green electric buses is being expanded from district headquarters to tehsil level, providing modern, safe and environmentally friendly travel facilities. Air-conditioned electric buses, she noted, have become a major relief for commuters during the summer season.
She said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ensured that government services reach people at their doorsteps, reflecting a governance model focused on public welfare, efficient service delivery and inclusive development.
