QUETTA: The Balochistan government has renamed Quetta’s historic Kohla Phatak Chowk as “Shuhada-e-Ziarat Chowk” to honor police personnel who embraced martyrdom while fighting terrorists in Ziarat.
Chief Minister’s Adviser on Information and Political Affairs Shahid Rind said the Metropolitan Corporation Quetta has issued the official notification, and the decision has taken immediate effect.
He said the martyrs made supreme sacrifices to protect peace, public safety and stability in Balochistan. Shahid Rind added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the provincial government is taking practical steps to preserve the legacy of the martyrs and ensure that future generations remember their courage and dedication. He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the dignity, welfare and continued support of the families of the martyrs.
