Shikarpur Police Foil Robbery Bid, Two Suspected Robbers Injured and Arrested in Encounter

SHIKARPUR, July 17: Shikarpur Police claimed to have foiled an alleged robbery attempt after an encounter with suspected street criminals on the Jagan Link Road within the limits of Stewart Ganj Police Station. According to SSP Shikarpur Muhammad Kaleem, two suspects, identified as Jahangir alias Jani Mehr and Shah Nawaz alias Shano Mehr, were arrested in an injured condition.

Police said two 30-bore pistols along with ammunition were recovered from the suspects, who were shifted to the Civil Hospital for medical treatment. Officials further claimed that both men were wanted in multiple cases, including robbery, theft, police encounters, narcotics-related offences and other serious crimes.

Separate cases have been registered against the suspects at Stewart Ganj Police Station for the alleged police encounter and recovery of illegal weapons. SSP Muhammad Kaleem stated that Shikarpur Police remain on high alert to ensure the protection of the lives and property of citizens.
