Modern Medical Technology Essential for Quality Healthcare, Says DC Barkhan

Deputy Commissioner Saeed ur Rehman Kakar on Friday said the adoption of modern medical technology was vital for improving the quality of healthcare services, reaffirming the district administration’s commitment to providing timely, accurate and reliable diagnostic facilities to the public.

He expressed these views while inaugurating a GeneXpert diagnostic machine at the Basic Health Unit (BHU) Rakhni under the public welfare vision of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by District Health Officer Dr Mujeeb ur Rehman Bugti, PPHI District Manager Ghulam Rasool Khetran, doctors, paramedical staff and other officials.

Following the inauguration, the deputy commissioner inspected the laboratory and received a detailed briefing on the machine’s technical features and diagnostic capabilities. Officials informed him that the GeneXpert system would significantly improve the rapid and accurate diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB), enabling patients to receive timely treatment and appropriate medical care.

Appreciating the collaborative efforts of the Health Department, PPHI and the TB Control Programme, Saeed ur Rehman Kakar said the introduction of advanced diagnostic technology represented an important step towards strengthening healthcare services and improving disease detection across the district.

He directed the concerned authorities to ensure the effective operation, regular maintenance and uninterrupted functioning of the GeneXpert machine so that residents could fully benefit from the modern diagnostic facility.

The deputy commissioner reaffirmed that improving healthcare infrastructure and expanding access to quality medical services would remain among the district administration’s foremost priorities.
