LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has paid tribute to Nelson Mandela on the occasion of Nelson Mandela International Day, describing his life as a lasting symbol of patience, perseverance and unwavering struggle.
In her message, the chief minister said Mandela remained steadfast in his principles despite years of imprisonment and dedicated his life to equality, non-violence and the protection of human rights. She said his services against racial discrimination and injustice remain an enduring part of world history.
Maryam Nawaz added that Nelson Mandela Day encourages people to contribute to society through practical action and emphasized that education remains the most powerful tool for bringing positive change.
