QUETTA: The Provincial Transport Department has decided to allow free travel to the special persons including those with disabilities in the Green Buses in Quetta city.
QUETTA: The Provincial Transport Department has decided to allow free travel to the special persons including those with disabilities in the Green Buses in Quetta city.
The special persons having the special cards of NADRA and registered with the Social Welfare Department can avail the free travel in the Green Buses.
The decision to this effect was made in a meeting held with Secretary Transport, Hayat Khan Kakar in the chair here the other day.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Executive Officer of Balochistan Public Private Partnership Authority (BPPPA), Dr. Faisal Kakar, Secretary Provincial Transport Authority (PTA), Abdul Majeed, Secretary Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Muhammad Ali Durrani, Deputy Secretary Social Welfare, Jalal Khan Marri, Manager Operations Green Buses, Awais Noor, head of Online Volunteer Organization, Ziaur Rehman and Riaz Ahmed Baloch.
The meeting discussed the matter of implementation on the free travel in Green Buses by the special persons.
While the special persons were granted free travelling service in the Green Buses, they would avail 50 percent off on the fares while travelling on the local public transport.
It was decided the secretaries of PTA and RTA were directed to ensure implementation on the decisions made in this regard.
It was mentioned in the meeting that the provincial government is determined to provide every possible relief to he special persons.
The facility of free travelling is being provided to the special persons as per the vision of Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, just because they (special persons) are important part of our society.
Moreover, the public transporters have also been asked to ensure implementation on the decision of 50 percent off on the public transport.
