ANF Cracks Down on Drug Trafficking: Over 174 Kg Seized, 8 Arrested
Islamabad. Jan. 17: In a major blow to drug trafficking networks, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized over 174 kg of narcotics and arrested eight individuals in 10 separate operations across Pakistan ¹.
The operations, carried out in various cities including Rawalpindi, Quetta, and Karachi, resulted in the confiscation of narcotics worth over Rs. 3.84 crore. The seized narcotics include heroin, ice, opium, and charras.
In one of the operations, ANF officials arrested two individuals in Rawalpindi and seized 1 kg of charras. The arrested individuals confessed to selling narcotics to students in educational institutions.
Other notable seizures include:
– 116g of weed seized from two parcels sent from the UK to Rawalpindi
– 6.8 kg of ice seized from a parcel sent from New Zealand to Quetta
– 90 kg of charras and 50 kg of ice seized from an abandoned area in Pasni, Balochistan
– 9.6 kg of charras seized from a hotel in Karachi
– 5 kg of ice, 1.2 kg of charras, and 500g of heroin seized from a motorway in Islamabad
– 4.8 kg of opium seized from a toll plaza in Gujarat
The ANF’s crackdown on drug trafficking is part of its efforts to combat the menace of narcotics in Pakistan.
