Mardan: Feb 20. Ramadan arrives, security tightened – DPO Mardan holds crime meeting, important instructions issued.

Crime prevention, crackdown on aerial firing, strict action ordered on ice and street crime.
On Thursday, A crime meeting was held under the chairmanship of DPO Mardan Zahoor Babar Afridi, in which all police officers participated. In view of the arrival of Ramadan, detailed discussions were held on security arrangements, crime prevention, improvement of traffic system, and resolution of public issues.
The DPO directed the officers to further tighten security during Ramadan, increase police patrols at mosques, markets and sensitive places, while special meetings should be held with scholars and traders to provide a safe environment to the public.
He ordered a zero tolerance policy on aerial firing and take strict legal action against its perpetrators. On this occasion, the DPO made it clear that no recommendation will be accepted and no concession will be given to anyone for violating the law.
Directing strict action against street crime, the DPO said that a close watch should be kept on the criminal elements, history sheets and personal files should be updated, and immediate action should be taken against the accused with records.
He ordered a full-scale crackdown on ice and other drugs, saying that instead of just arresting small drug dealers, the real dealers and suppliers should be arrested so that this menace can be completely eradicated.
Stressing on ensuring traffic flow, the DPO said that the traffic flow should be maintained in all areas of the city, especially during the rush hour in Ramadan so that the citizens do not face any kind of trouble.
Finally, the DPO directed all the officers to maintain merit and discipline in the police at all costs and adopt the best attitude towards the public so that a strong bond of trust is established between the police and the public.
