Due to the deteriorating law and order situation in South Waziristan Upper, the district administration has completely disappeared, due to which government affairs in the area have come to a standstill. After the inauguration at district headquarters Ladha a week ago, the Deputy Commissioner and other officers made only formal attendance and then disappeared from the offices. According to sources, some officers have shifted to Peshawar while others have returned to their homes, as a result of which district offices have become deserted and people are deprived of basic government facilities.
The offices of the district administration, including the tehsil offices of the Assistant Commissioner and Deputy Assistant Commissioner of the sub-division Survekai, are completely closed. Most of the important posts at the district level are vacant, and no new appointments of officers have been made after the transfer, paralyzing government affairs.
Sources say that due to the deteriorating law and order situation in the area, the increasing activities of militants and the weakness of the state writ, the government officers are preferring escape route instead of doing their duty. In this uncertain situation, ordinary citizens are facing severe difficulties, as basic services like domicile, license, government registration, and other important matters are being disrupted due to the absence of administration.
The people of the area are in dire straits and are demanding the government to take immediate steps to restore law and order and make the district administration functional. Otherwise, public grievances may increase and non-state actors may gain strength by taking advantage of administrative vacuums.
The government should adopt a concrete strategy to improve the law and order situation in South Waziristan and ensure the return of absconding officers, so that the people can be provided with their basic rights.

DPO Mardan Zahoor Babar Afridi led by the district representatives of Jamaat-e-Islami, including Abdullah , Abdul Razzaq, former District Naib Nazim Mardan Muhammad Ibrahim Buland and others, signed an important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 14 educational institutions including Leeds School, Iqra School and College, Concept School, Ghazali School, Ghazali College, Hira School, Dararqam, Smart School, Parkland School and other renowned educational institutions.
Under this agreement, each school will provide 100 percent free education to the children of police martyrs, while a 30 percent concession will be given to the children of under-service police employees. Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr. Saif, has responded to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s statement, saying that Bilawal Bhutto should first set his own house in order before criticizing others. Provincial Health Advisor Ihtesham Ali has taken strict notice of the mismanagement in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Paramedical Faculty examinations and announced further tightening of the examination process. In a telephonic conversation with the Acting Chief Executive of the Paramedical Faculty, Dr. Abid Hussain, the Health Advisor instructed to make the examination process more stringent.
The Health Advisor emphasized solid steps to prevent the use of electronic devices and impersonation in the examination halls. He stated that conducting examinations in public institutions instead of private colleges for the first time is a significant achievement. Although there are initial challenges, moving examination halls from private to public institutions is no less than a challenge.
On the instructions of the Health Advisor, Dr. Abid Hussain has issued orders to the examination staff across the province. He directed that candidates arriving more than five minutes after the start of the MCQs paper should not be allowed to enter the hall, and thorough checking of students should be ensured.
He also instructed strict measures to prevent the use of mobile phones and Bluetooth devices, including thorough searches of candidates and, if necessary, deployment of police around the examination halls.
The Acting Chief Executive emphasized that any mobile phone seized during the examination would not be returned, and directed measures be taken to match the roll number photos with the candidates to prevent impersonation. He warned that legal action could be taken against staff for non-compliance with the pre-provided SOPs for the examination halls.

KP Food Authority Cracks Down on Adulterated Food Around the Province

On the directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Food Zahir Shah Toru, the KP Food Safety & Halal Food Authority intensified its crackdown against substandard and adulterated food items during Ramadan. In operations conducted across Mardan,Charsadda, Khyber, and Swat, food safety teams sealed multiple food outlets, confiscated counterfeit spices, and disposed of hazardous food products.
According to the spokesperson for the Food Authority, food safety teams carried out a series of inspections in collaboration with district administrations. In Rajar Bazaar of Charsadda, three bakery units were sealed due to poor hygiene standards.
Similarly, in Mardan, on the tip of, the food inspction team raided a juice production unit. During the operation, 650 liters of substandard juice were destroyed on the spot, while 550 liters of packed juice were confiscated, leading to the sealing of the unit. Additionally, 15 kilograms of banned China salt were seized in a separate inspection in the same city.
According to further details, in Swat, the authority conducted a successful operation on Airport Road, where officials seized over 900 kilograms of misbranded spices from a warehouse, which was subsequently sealed. The details also unveiled that in Khyber district, the food safety team, in collaboration with the district administration, inspected ghee mills in Bara Bazaar. A storage facility containing misbranded ghee was sealed, and a butcher’s shop selling substandard meat was also shut down. Heavy fines were imposed on the violators, and further legal proceedings have been initiated.
Director General of the Food Safety Authority Wasif Saeed, reaffirmed commitment of food authority to safeguard public health. “There will be zero tolerance for those endangering citizens’ health through adulterated food,” he stated.

27TH MEETING OF THE PROVICIAL CABINET
Peshawar: March 12. The 27th meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Cabinet was held
here with Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur in the chair and was attended by Cabinet members, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Administrative Secretaries, and Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Immediately after recitation from the holly Quran, the Chief Minister in his opening remarks appreciated the performance of the cabinet colleagues and the supporting bureaucracy for such an outstanding performance during the last one year of his government. He said that while taking over the reign of government one year ago, the province hardly had 15 days salaries for the employees but now they have a historic Rs.150 billion surplus. Without imposing any tax, the income of the Province has been increased 50 per cent while on the other hand not only cent per cent releases have been made to the ADP schemes but the frozen ones too retaken up. He pointed out that the Health Card scheme was stopped but they have not only retaken it up but widened its coverage too
Due to good governance, as many as Rs.900 million a month is saved just in the Health Card scheme despite the widening of services. This has been highly appreciated by the poor people of the province, he said. He further pointed out that liabilities worth Rs.87 billion have also been cleared and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa became the first Province to have established a debt retirement Fund and reserving Rs.30 billion for it. As far as new schemes, the first ever Provincial Transmission Line has been taken up at a cost of Rs.18 billion to provide cheap electricity to the industrial units. Taking important decisions on agenda items, the cabinet approved a draft bill for establishing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Officers Welfare Fund. The fund upon creation is aimed at supporting the Judicial Officers in situations such as health emergencies, accidents, natural disasters and post-retirement needs. It also approved a special grant of Rs. 667.500 Million as payment for 150 Kanal land to Peshawar Development Authority for construction of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy at Regi Model Town, Peshawar.
The Cabinet approved Rs. 9934000/- as additional grant for Peshawar High Court to purchase vehicle for the official use of the judges while relaxing the ban on purchase of vehicles. Relaxing the ban for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights Department, the Cabinet also approved the creation of posts of various cadres in the Ombudsman Secretariat. The Chief Minister on this occasion directed to accelerate work on the establishment of car park near the buildings of the Peshawar High Court and the District Courts

He said the economy was put back on track and the country started moving on road to progress and development due to PMLN Govt pro-economic policies and reforms
To compete with the developed nations, he said that we need to work hard with great speed for the next 22 years by coping ourselves with digital technologies in order to achieve economic heights and provide job opportunities to all.
Under Uran Pakistan, he said that focus was being made on increasing exports for enhancing sustainable economic growth, increasing foreign reserves, value addition and innovation in manufacturing, minerals, agriculture, IT and manpower export.
Under E Pakistan, he said the Govt was working on enhancing the digital economy by ensuring quality Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs), promotion of environment friendly technologies, combating climate change besides encouraging equity and development. He said climate change has emerged as a major challenge to Pakistan and under Uran Pakistan Govt would help counter this issue with cooperation of relevant stakeholders.
Ahsan Iqbal said that Uran Pakistan was a landmark program launched by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif that would change the destiny of people. He said the Govt’s projects and policies were aimed to increase IT exports significantly.
Ahsan Iqbal said that energy shortfall was key challenge that negatively impacted industrial production in the past and addressing the issue of power pilferage was imperative for achieving maximum industrial and agriculture production for economic gains.
He said the Higher Education Commission (HEC) was directed to equip students with information technology vital for better exports management and entrepreneurship for increasing foreign exchange and generation of jobs opportunities.
Later, talking to reporters, Professor Ahsan Iqbal said that Govt’s successful policies and economic reforms started producing fruitful results in the country where price hike has slashed to below four percent while policy rate significantly reduced.
Despite differences in political approach and thinking, he said that we all are united for the progress and development of Pakistan. He said that 60 percent of resources goes from the federation to the provinces. He said that PMLN Govt has saved the country from an imminent default.
He said that investment started coming back to Pakistan from friendly countries which strongly reflected their confidence in Govt’s economic policies. Earlier, the Federal Minister was welcomed by the faculty and students of IMS Hayatabad.
